Independent eyes, on the asset, on the day

Attendance, inspection and reporting carried out to a defined scope and reported factually — so that owners, insurers, charterers and authorities can act on what was actually found.

Overview

Polaris provides marine inspection and survey services intended to give clients objective, structured, evidence-based information about vessels, marine assets, equipment and operational conditions, within the scope agreed for each assignment.

Our surveyors apply the inspection or survey methodology appropriate to the nature and purpose of the assignment, record what is observed, and report it without interpretation beyond the technical evaluation the client has asked for. The value of a survey lies in its independence and in the traceability of its findings.

Why this service matters

Decisions turn on the condition of the asset.

Purchase, charter, repair, claim and acceptance decisions all rest on an accurate picture of condition at a point in time.

Disputes are settled on records.

A report that identifies scope, method, date, attendance, limitations and evidence is defensible. One that does not is an opinion.

Impartiality is the product.

An inspection is only worth commissioning if the party carrying it out has no interest in the outcome.

Why Polaris

Independence maintained by design

Polaris Marine Survey operates as an independent third-party inspection function. Where independence could be affected by other Polaris work for the same client on the same subject, the assignment is declined or referred.

Reports written for the reader who was not there

Scope, date, attendance, method, limitations and evidence are stated in every report as a matter of course.
